Sihanoukville

Sihanoukville is a beautiful coastal city in southwest Cambodia. It is known for its palm-fringed beaches, tropical islands and late night bars. Overlooking the capital of Sihanoukville is the hilltop Buddhist temple of Wat Leu.

We were staying on the hill below Wat Leu with a beautiful Turkish family. At first when arriving at their Airbnb you might think that their location is a little out of the way, however, it is actually quite central to everything as they provide a moped for guests to get around. If you were to stay anywhere in Sihanoukville we would definitely recommend Fevziye and her family as they were the perfect hosts. Daily we were made a delicious breakfast and then they would take us on adventures around Sihanoukville. This definitely made it a lot easier for us as we didn't know the best spots to eat, swim or visit.

One of our favourite spots to go was the Independence Hotel. Fevziye provides the guests with a membership card to the hotel and your first use of their gym/spa is free, the following entrances are 6USD pp/per day. We found that you only had to show your membership card to the staff at the pool or beach and they wouldn't stamp it, so that didn't one of your daily entrance spots. The newly opened infinity pool was spectacular with beautiful views of the Gulf of Thailand.

Wat Krom temple was another beautiful little buddhist temple that we visited in Sihanoukville.
