Paris Pt2
There are only two places in the world where we can live happy: at home and in Paris.
- Ernest Hemingway
I was so excited to continue our Parisian adventure and now with my little sister as well. We ventured out to explore the Louvre and oh my god it was huge! The amount of times we got lost was ridiculous. The Louvre is absolutely beautiful and you could easily spend a full week there gazing at all of the amazing artworks and sculptures. Once we had seen the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo we headed outside to see the miniature Arc de Triomphe de Carrousel.
Our last day in Paris we decided to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Before we went and joined the long dreaded queue of the Eiffel Tower ticket booth, the boys played a little 1 on 1 basketball on the courts in front of the Eiffel Tower. Once we took the two lifts to the top, we were all blown away, literally, the wind at the top - 324m high - was incredible. Once we had conquered the Eiffel Tower, we made our way to the Notre Dame. The inside of this Catholic cathedral is absolutely beautiful, it is dark, cold and lit by candle light.
I couldn't have asked for a better start to our European adventure, I was so happy that I got to experience Paris with my love, sister and friend. We had a fantastic couple of days, eating loads of food, explored a beautiful city and made a huge amount of memories already. Next stop, Brussels!
Keep your eye out for my next post, Brussels!
